Connect Korrit to Claude or ChatGPT
Korrit has an MCP server, which is a standard way for AI assistants to work with other software. Once you connect it, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT to look up projects, log time and manage tasks, and it does the work in Korrit as you. Setup takes a few minutes and you do it once per AI app.
Before you start
- Your firm’s Korrit subscription needs to be active. Any paid plan works. The connection doesn’t work in the demo firm.
- You don’t need admin rights in Korrit. Anyone in the firm can connect their own AI app. It acts with your role’s permissions, so a designer’s connection sees what a designer sees. What Claude and ChatGPT can see and do in Korrit explains this in detail.
- You need a Claude or ChatGPT plan that allows custom connectors. Claude allows them on every plan, but the Free plan is limited to one. In ChatGPT it depends on your plan, and on Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may have to turn it on first.
Get your server URL from Korrit
- In Korrit, open Settings → Connectors.
- Under AI assistants, find the MCP card and choose Set up.
- In the Connect an AI assistant window, copy the Server URL.
Keep this window open. The tabs under the URL show short steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and other apps.
Add Korrit to Claude
These steps are for Claude on the web or the desktop app with a Free, Pro or Max plan.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Korrit, paste the server URL, and choose Continue.
- Leave the authentication settings as Claude detects them and choose Continue, then Add.
- If Claude doesn’t open Korrit by itself, choose Connect next to Korrit.
- A Korrit window opens. Sign in if asked, check the firm and role it shows, and choose Allow.
On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds Korrit once under Organization settings → Connectors. Then each person goes to Customize → Connectors, finds Korrit and chooses Connect to sign in with their own Korrit account.
To use Korrit in a chat, choose + at the lower left of the message box, then Connectors, and make sure Korrit is switched on. Claude asks for your approval before it uses a tool. Only choose Allow always for actions you’re comfortable letting it run without checking with you.
Add Korrit to ChatGPT
OpenAI has been moving and renaming these screens, so the labels in your account may differ a little. OpenAI’s help article on custom MCP connections has their current steps.
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Go back to Apps and choose Create.
- Name it Korrit, paste the server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Read OpenAI’s warning about custom connections, confirm it, and choose Create.
- A Korrit window opens. Sign in if asked, check the firm and role it shows, and choose Allow.
Then turn Korrit on for a conversation from ChatGPT’s tools menu in the message box.
Try your first requests
Start with something you can check in Korrit afterwards. Use the names you actually use for projects and phases.
- “Log 3 hours to Design Development on Union Row for yesterday, billable, with the note ‘door schedule revisions’.”
- “What tasks are still open on Harbor House, and who are they assigned to?”
- “Add a task to the Construction Documents phase on Harbor House: send the door schedule to the contractor, due Friday, assigned to Sam.”
- “Who logged the most billable hours last month?”
A principal can also ask how the firm is doing, for example “How did project profit look last quarter?” That uses Korrit’s profit report, which most roles can’t open.
If a request fails, the AI usually says why. The most common reasons are a role that doesn’t allow the action, or time on a day whose timesheet period is already marked complete or approved, which locks it.
Disconnect or revoke access
You can cut off an AI app at any time from Korrit:
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Manage on the MCP card.
- Under Your connections, find the connection. Each one shows its name, how it connected and when it was last used.
- Choose Revoke.
The connection stops working immediately. To tidy up the AI side too, remove Korrit from Customize → Connectors in Claude, or delete the Korrit app in ChatGPT’s settings. To connect again later, repeat the steps above.
